OBAMA CONDEMNS LUDACRIS!!!!!

(PHOTO TAKEN BY: KINGSMEN)

By Ismael AbduSalaam
Presumptive Democrat presidential nominee Barack Obama has condemned an endorsement song from Ludacris, in which the Atlanta MC criticizes rivals Hillary Clinton and John McCain.

The song “Politics: Obama Is Here” contains celebratory bars on Obama’s success (“The first is destined and it’s meant to be”), but turns venomous when Obama’s rivals are addressed.

Ludacris references the bitter Democratic primary battle by stating “Hillary hated on you/So that b**ch is irrelevant.”

Regarding Republican nominee John McCain, the rapper rhymes:

“McCain don’t belong in ANY chair unless he’s paralyzed/ Yeah I said it cause Bush is mentally handicapped/ Ball up all of his speeches and I throw ‘em like candy wrap.”

Through his campaign team, Senator Obama released a statement condemning the song as offensive and typical of much of Hip-Hop’s current lyrical content.

“As Barack Obama has said many, many times in the past, rap lyrics today too often perpetuate misogyny, materialism, and degrading images that he doesn’t want his daughters or any children exposed to,” explained spokesman Bill Burton. “This song is not only outrageously offensive to Senator Clinton, Reverend Jackson, Senator McCain, and President Bush, it is offensive to all of us who are trying to raise our children with values we hold dear. While Ludacris is a talented individual he should be ashamed of these lyrics.”

Previously Obama once that Ludacris’ music received heavy rotation in his iPod, a point also acknowledged in the song when the rapper says:

“With a slot in the president’s iPod Obama shattered ‘em/ Said I handled his biz and I’m one of his favorite rappers."

In November of 2006, Ludacris met with Senator Obama at his Chicago office, where the Grammy Award winners discussed youth empowerment.

The rap has also drawn the wrath of WomenCount, a new organization co-founded by former Rock The Vote President/political commentator Jehmu Greene.

"It is another example of hateful, sexist language being used on the campaign trail, and now is our moment to make it clear: not on our watch!” stated Rosemary Camposano, Communications Director, WomenCount PAC. “The leadership of both parties must step up to condemn such hateful speech and demand apologies. The Obama campaign has criticized the lyrics, but we call on the presumptive party nominee, who is the celebrated subject of the new song, to go even further: Publicly condemn the song. Demand an apology on behalf of the targets. Now."

Ludacris could not be reached for comment at press time.

Nelly will be featured in the Fall campaign promoting Sean John’s collection of underwear and loungewear.

The campaign, which was shot by Randee St. Nicholas, showcases Nelly in a modern home overlooking Los Angeles, while modeling the underwear.

"I have been a big fan of Diddy and the Sean John clothing line for years,” Nelly told AllHipHop.com in a statement. “So, when they asked me to work with them, it was a real honor. I hope my fans will enjoy this campaign as much as I did shooting it."

Sean “Diddy” Combs, founder of Sean John, hopes Nelly’s involvement will help boost Sean John’s earnings, which are pegged at about $525 million annually.

"I have known Nelly for many years and I really admire his work. To me, Nelly is the quintessential definition of the Sean John man,” Combs elaborated. “He has the attitude, the swagger, and most of all the physique that our customers can both aspire and relate to. And let's be honest, all of the ladies out there are going to be thanking us for this campaign.”

50 CENT -N- LIL WAYNE CALMS THE BEEF!!!!

MTV caused controversy last year after dubbing Lil Wayne the top rapper of today in a list of 100 current artists. Namely, this list struck a nerve with Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson, who lamented to MTV, "You got other artists that are there that haven't even made their own records...The #1 artist, tell me his first single off of his last album". When the interviewer was unable to name Lil Wayne's first single, 50 then retorted "How you '#1' and no one knows the record?"
But despite this apparent jab at Weezy's level of talent, the former Hot Boy didn't take the bait. Rather than defend his title of '#1', Weezy took 50's criticism as a compliment. In a separate interview, Wanye had this response when hearing about 50's views on him:
"That shits crazy man [laughs]. I ain't fuckin wit 50; he too high up there...I can't even deal wit none of that. That's my nigga though. I respect that my name even came out the homie's mouth. No homo." He then went on to say "I respect him. I just took it as a compliment. I'd never go back at 50; that nigga's a trillionaire[laughs]. I'm tryin to get there homie. I'm smart, I ain't dumb."

Despite Wayne's tactful response, the public still fueled the talk of beef between Weezy and 50. Today (Feb 25) it seems that any possible problems with the G-Unit headman have settled down. "People thought I had problems with Lil Wayne," 50 vented to MTV's Mixtape Monday recently. "I don't have problems with that little nigga. I like him. I like his music."

WAFFLE HOUSE BRAWL COST 'KID ROCK' $1000...COMUNITY SERVICE

DECATUR, Georgia (AP) -- Officials in Georgia say Kid Rock has been sentenced to a year's probation and fined $1,000 for his role in a fight at a suburban Atlanta Waffle House last fall.

Waffle House incident ends with Kid Rock paying $1,000, attending anger management sessions.

The DeKalb County solicitor's office says the 37-year-old was also sentenced Monday to six hours of anger management counseling and 80 hours of community service.

The entertainer, whose real name is Robert J. Ritchie, pleaded no contest to one count of simple battery. Four counts of battery were dropped.

Ritchie's tour bus stopped at the Waffle House about 5 a.m. on October 21 after a performance in downtown Atlanta. An exchange of words with a customer escalated into a fight that spilled from the restaurant into the parking lot.

NAS RULES THE BILLBOARD...LIL WAYNE #2...G-UNIT....GONE!!!!

July 23, 2008 , 11:05 AM ET

Katie Hasty, N.Y.
One rapper replaces another atop The Billboard 200 this week, as Nas' untitled Def Jam album dethrones Lil Wayne's Cash Money/Universal set "Tha Carter III." Nas' album sold 187,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan, becoming the rapper's fifth No. 1 here.

Nas' prior album, 2006's "Hip-Hop Is Dead," also debuted at No. 1 but sold 354,000 over Christmas week. Meanwhile, after three non-consecutive weeks at No. 1, "Tha Carter III" slips to No. 2 with a 15% sales decrease to 105,000.

The Decca soundtrack to "Mamma Mia!," the film adaptation of the hit theatrical musical based on ABBA's songbook, experiences an 89% sales boost after the movie hit theaters Friday (and earned the highest grossing weekend opening ever for a musical); it climbs 7-3 with 91,000. Coldplay's "Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends" (Capitol) slips 2-4 with 90,000 (-20%), while the Jonas Brothers-led soundtrack to Disney's "Camp Rock" descends 3-5 with 78,000 (-12%).

Though it slips 5-6 on the chart, Kid Rock's "Rock N Roll Jesus" (Atlantic) continues to resurge with the help of the Hot AC/Adult Top 40 single "All Summer Long," selling 73,000 with a 20% sales increase.

John Mellencamp's Hear Music debut "Life Death Love and Freedom" bows at No. 7 with 56,000, his fourth top 10 album. It's his 19th charting record overall, stretching back to the Aug. 18, 1979, debut of "John Cougar."

David Banner debuts right behind at No. 8 with his third straight top 10 studio album, "The Greatest Story Ever Told" (SRC/Universal), shifting 52,000. His previous set, 2005's "Certified," peaked at No. 6.

"Beautiful Eyes," a new Wal-mart exclusive EP/DVD from country star Taylor Swift, begins with 45,000 at No. 9. Meanwhile, her Big Machine self-titled debut climbs 14-12 with 35,000 (+20%) in its 59th week on the chart. Rihanna's "Good Girl Gone Bad" (SRP/Def Jam) rounds out the top tier, slipping 8-10 with 41,000 (-12%).

O.A.R.'s "All Sides" (Atlantic) earns the group its biggest charting and sales week ever, debuting at No. 13 with 33,000. Country veteran Randy Travis also snares his highest charting album ever on The Billboard 200 as "Around the Bend" (Warner Bros.) debuts at No. 14 with 31,000.

Other debuts this week include Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard's soundtrack to new Batman movie "The Dark Knight" (Warner Bros.) at No. 20 with 25,000 and Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band's live EP "Magic Tour Highlights" (Columbia) at No. 48 with 12,000.

At 7.48 million units, sales this week are up 2.1% from last week's sum and down 7.85% from the same week last year.

MTV AND KANYE WEST TEAM UP FOR SOLDIERS HOMECOMING!!!!

Despite the fact that young veterans will be facing many difficulties upon their arrival back into the U.S. (searching for employment, facing their friends and families with their tales of the casualties of war and dealing with their own traumatic memories), there is hope, yet, as Kanye West will be offering advice and help in his new show Choose or Lose + Kanye West Presents: Homecoming. MTV and West will be teaming up to honor the war heroes in the one-hour special airing at 10 p.m. on July 28.
MTV’s Sway Calloway and West will drop into some of the veterans’ homes unexpectedly to show viewers the hardships they endured. MTV and the Donda West Foundation will also be paying off debts for the veterans, taking care of their tuition or compensating their rent.

With regards to his reaching out to the new veterans of the Iraq war, West said “there are hundreds of veterans out there who are falling though the cracks. They make the ultimate sacrifices for us by laying down their lives, but it seems like a lot of them just get forgotten about.”

“I know my music inspires and helps a lot of people, but you can always do more.”

50 CENT WINS ROUND 1.....EX-GIRLFRIEND FAILS THE DRUG TEST!!!!!!

All 50 Cent wanted was to see his son, and now he’ll get his chance.

Amidst a feud with his ex-girlfriend, Shaniqua Tompkins, and after a clean court-ordered drug test on Thursday, 50 Cent has finally been granted an unrestricted vacation period with his son, Marquise, from Aug 3-12.

For Shaniqua Tompkins, mother of Marquise, the test came up positive for opiates. In her defense, Tompkins had recently been taking cough medicine.

The custodial issues between 50 and Tompkins arose in April, and exploded after their Dix Hills, New York mansion was set ablaze in May. Tompkins and Marquise, 11, escaped through a second-floor window while 50 cent was in Louisiana. Subsequently, Tompkins publicly blamed 50 for the suspicious fire, which is currently under investigation, and has secured a restraining order against him. Both parties previously quarreled over putting the 5,200 square foot home in Tompkins’ name, while 50 reportedly demanded $4,500 in rent with threats of eviction circulating.

Prior to the court hearing, 50 filed a $20 million defamation lawsuit against Tompkins for the accusations last month. Though he’s able to see his son, the legal battles between 50 and Tompkins have yet to be put to rest.

IS THIS FREEDOM OF SPEECH?...IS THIS FAIR?

I don't know if any of you have heard this story, but it simply cements my belief that some people slough off more dead brain cells than others. A Grad Student in New York decided it would be a good idea to don a t-shirt that read "Obama is My Slave" and walk down the streets of New York. You know what happened next. She encountered some Obama fans and they let her know what they thought about her new shirt. That girl is probably still washing spit out of her hair. But anyway, she decided that her fashion felony was not her fault and may be suing the designer she bought the shirt from. I'm really going to need her to forget about the doctorate and invest in a red helmet

LUDACRIS -N- DJ DRAMA.....GANGSTA GRILLZ....THE PREVIEW!!!!

With a new album on the verge of being released the leader of DTP has linked up with the Apphilates main DJ [DJ Drama] to bring us all a preview of what's in store from the master of rap music with a "Gangsta Grillz" mixtape. Check it out below.

Here's what Drama and Luda told MTV News:

Ludacris still feels that he is still on top of his game lyrically:

“I feel there is no rap style I cannot do,” ‘Cris said in Atlanta, standing next to DJ Drama during a round of pool. “Unlimited amounts of ways I can come on the microphone. I feel like I’m the best doing the damn thing.

Ludacris and Drama are putting the last touches on Luda’s new mixtape, The Preview.

“Album number six is on the way. It’s called Theater of the Mind,” Luda said. “So with that said, we got the mixtape, The Preview — the preview to the damn movie. It’s all about lyrical exercise. I been gone, opening up a restaurant [in Atlanta], doing a couple of movies here and there, just a little bit of everything. It’s time to get back in the music game. It’s been a long time, but we back on that ass.

“You gonna get a mixture of freestyles, new songs, snippets from Theater of the Mind, [past] songs where samples couldn’t clear and make the album, but they still crazy-ass records. And me and Barack O’Drama talking a gang of sh–. It’s as simple as that.”

“The first-ever Luda/ DJ Drama Gangsta Grillz!” Dram jumped in. “This sh– is history. It’s the preview, the coming attractions. Get your popcorn. This time, [the production of the tape] worked out through the conversation. Luda already had the concept of the tape, it being the preview … for the Theater of the Mind. When I heard [the word] ‘preview,’ my mind started immediately racing of how we should put it together. I said, ‘Every beat, everything you get on has to be a movie.’ On the microphone, he’s already a monster, so it’s kind of an easy thing. I like to give everything a beginning, middle and end. With a concept like The Preview, ['Cris] kinda made it too easy.”

DEON GRANT, T.I. AND SEAN GARRETT INSPIRES POSITIVE RELATIONSHIPS FOR FAMILIES

"I appreciate hearing straight talk from T.I., NFL Player Deon Grant and Sean Garrett. Like T.I. said, girls are special and should always carry themselves that way. Don't get caught up in all the hype, respect yourself" stated ICTBS Teen Kiana.

On Wednesday, July 9th, single parent mothers and their daughters watched intensely as the dramatic scenes from Tyler Perry's Daddy's Little Girls were displayed on the Big Screen at the Radio One conference room. "I have watched that film over and over and those scenes still affect me when it relates to my daughter and our relationship," stated a mom. What a way to start the panel discussions off with powerful scenes from this movie concerning relationships with mothers, daughters, fathers and boyfriends and how they impact relationships in our communities.

The It's Cool To Be Smart "Saving Our Daughters" from a Men's Pointy of View, was hosted by Rashan Ali from the A-Team Morning Show who directed on point questions to celebrity panelist to include Grammy artists T.I. and Sean Garrett along with All Pro NFL Safety of the Seattle Seahawks, Deon Grant.

RICK ROSS 'THE BOSS'.....PRISON BLOCK BOSS.....DENIES EX-CORRECTIONAL OFFICER CLAIMS

By Charlie Rem
Rick Ross has charged that images depicting him as a young correctional officer are totally fabricated, the result of savvy graphic artists.

He told AllHipHop.com exclusively, "My life is 100% real. These online hackers putting a picture of my face when I was a teenager in high school on other peoples' body. If this s**t was real don't you think they would have more specifics, like dates and everything?”

Earlier, a single image was in circulation on the internet suggesting that Ross previously worked as a correctional officer at an unnamed jail or prison.

The Miami-based rap artist, known for his gritty street rhymes, said envious people have conspired against him for his success and stature.

“I'm in the entertainment business and a lot of people who like to hate because I'm on top of my game,” Ross told AllHipHop.com. “Like I said before my life is 100% real. I live by this die by this. Fake pictures are created by the fake, meant to entertain the fake."

While the image appears very realistic, boxer Oscar De La Hoya was involved in a similar scandal that made the pugilist appear to be a cross dresser.

The images were proven to be doctored and De La Hoya was completely exonerated. Ross is already moving on.

He stated that he was working on a new album called Deeper Than Rap, which would come at an undetermined date in the near future.

BUCKEEY SPEAKS OUT ON 'SEX TAPE'

STEAL(KINGSMEN) -N- SHAY(BUCKEEY)

Former Flavor of Love Season 2 and Charm School standout Buckeey has broken her silence about her leaked sex tape, which was distributed throughout the internet in June.

In an exclusive interview, Buckeey, real name Shay Johnson, is steadfast in stating the tape’s distribution was done without her permission, and she had no intention of using it for publicity as some have claimed.

“It troubled me to find out my intimate act of love was classified as a sex tape. I didn’t speak on it because I knew how tender the situation was between me and my partner,” Buckeey revealed to AllHipHop.com. “I didn’t want to point fingers at anyone or come out with any names because it was then and still is very much my personal business.”

Buckeey gained notoriety as the short tempered, potential beau of legendary Public Enemy hypeman Flavor Flav on the reality series Flavor of Love.

In season two, Flav eliminated Buckeey after she had a dangerous fight with another contestant and nearly pushed her off a second story balcony.

Since the tape, Buckeey has had to deal with heckling and graphic questions about her sex life she was not prepared to deal with.

In order to repair her reputation, she feels this is no longer an issue she can ignore.

“Over these past few weeks I have been tortured by strangers about what happened, who was I with, did I release the tape on purpose to get publicity, can I prove to them it was me and multiple other random and indecent requests and questions,” Buckeey explained. “So I’m forced to make a statement. Once you become a personality on television you become the target of haters and I am no different, the release of the tape was done by a hater, stolen by a hater and is just another blatant case of b***chassness.”

In the end, Buckeey hopes that fans and media alike will remember the two human beings involved that have had their lives turned upside down by the leak.

She asks that her privacy be respected and her fans to continue their support for her entertainment aspirations.

“The truth is what I did was out of love for someone and for he and I to share and reflect on. It was never meant for thousands of people to view and make comments on,” she reasoned. “So from this point the concentration should be on where I’m going not what I did. All I ask is for my fans to continue to love me and the haters can keep their job too.”

Shay “Buckeey” Johnson has appeared in Hip-Hop videos like “Ms. New Booty,” by Bubba Sparxxx, “Shoulder Lean” by Young Dro and T.I. and “Happy Hour” featuring Jazze Pha and Cee Lo and others.

TRAE HONORED IN TEXAS WITH 'TRAE DAY'

STEAL(KINGSMEN ENT) -N- TRAE

Houston, TX - For all of the controversy and negative imagery attached to the rap music world, its artists often do much to give back to their communities and show support for the young people coming up behind them. One such artist is Houston's Trae tha Truth, and, in honor of his outstanding work within the community, the City of Houston is honoring Trae with his own day; the first time this honor has been extended to a rap artist. Henceforth, July 22nd will be known as Trae Day. The proclamation honoring Trae will be read at 2PM on that day by Houston's Mayor, Bill White, and the ceremony will be attended by City officials and several prominent rap artists. In further celebration of Trae Day, Trae is throwing what is to become an annual event; a block party at Houston's Sharpstown Mall where he will be joined not only by City officials and members of the rap community, but hundreds of children and their families from the communities that Trae routinely gives back to. The party will feature games and rides for the children, food and drinks and free live performances by Trae and a host of very special surprise guests.

DAVID BANNER SMASHES REV. JESSE JACKSON

PICTURE TAKEN BY:STEAL

Days after the Rev. Jesse Jackson apologized for making negative comments about Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama, rapper David Banner is weighing in on the controversy.

Banner, who drew headlines during the Imus scandal for his scathing comments about Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, also rapped about Jackson on the track “So Special.”

Rev. Jesse Jackson came under fire since making what he called "crude and hurtful" remarks about Obama on Sunday (July 6) after an interview with a Fox News correspondent.

The former Democratic presidential contender, who was not aware that his microphone was still on while talking to UnitedHealth Group executive Dr. Reed V. Tuckson, whispered "See, Barack's been talking down to black people…I want to cut his nuts off" to Tuckson who was also being interviewed on Fox News.

News of the incident dominated morning talk shows and other media outlets since it became public.

"He didn’t literally mean that he wanted to cut Barack’s balls off. So we just need to quit it and move on," David Banner told AllHipHop.com. “This is one of the most important elections in history and we should focus on what’s right and what’s wrong. We’re gonna mess around and let the same thing happen with the last two elections and then we as American people are gonna be sitting up looking stupid with high ass gas prices again and our troops still at war."

On Wednesday (July 9), Jackson apologized for his remarks as well as any hurt or harm the comments caused the Obama campaign.

Although a spokesman for the campaign relayed that the Illinois senator accepted Jackson’s apology, Jackson’s son, Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., of Illinois was less forgiving as he publicly voiced his outrage and disappointment over his father’s remarks about Obama by calling them "reckless statements."

While the elder Jackson’s comments may have come as a shock, Banner was quick to point out the importance of looking at the bigger picture.

“I think the thing that we should focus on more is the disconnect between young black people and old black people. And the truth, when it comes down to it, is about what’s right and what’s wrong,” said Banner.

While criticism is regularly thrown at leaders such as Jackson and the Rev. Al Sharpton, Banner points out that representation must exist for the current generation of voters.

“We need to agree on who our leaders are gonna be. When we go through a generation without representation, who’s representing our generation that comes from our generation? Who is speaking out and pushing for policies for our generation?” Banner asked. “We complain about Jesse Jackson and people like that, but who are we gonna put in those positions? Who’s gonna step up to the forefront and take responsibility?”

Banner’s encouragement for fans to become active on issues affecting them is voiced on "So Long," a song off his forthcoming album The Greatest Story Ever Told, which hits stores Tuesday (July 15).

YUNG JOC SUED FOR $25,000 OVER STEREO SYSTEM

Rapper Yung Joc is set to appear in court on Monday (July 14) to dispute an unpaid bill for high-end stereo equipment.

According to WSBTV channel 2, the case involves fraud and contract disputes between the Atlanta rapper (born Jasiel Robinson) and a company called "Stereotypes."

The conflict stems from claims by Stereotypes that Robinson did not pay the company for installing high-end stereo equipment in his car.

According to court documents, services provided by Stereotypes totaled nearly $25,000 dollars.

The pending trial will take place at the Fulton County Courthouse.

The news comes as Robinson, who recently signed a deal with Jive Records, is planning to release the debut album of Chicago-based rap trio Hot Stylz.

The group, which is enjoying the success of its hit single "Lookin’ Boy," is one of the artists affiliated with Robinson’s imprint, Swagg Team Entertainment.

THE "GAME" EXPLAINS FUNERAL BRAWL WITH FAMILY

Game phoned into Phoenix, Arizona radio show “The Nutz in the Morning” on Power 98.3, to break down his intentional distance from his family.

“Ain’t never been like a real family,” he disclosed. “They fight at every single funeral I’ve ever been to. My uncle wants me to go to the hospital to see my cousin and I really want to see my cousin, she’s dying, she’s on her death bed and I don’t want to be around these people ‘cause I know how they are. They’re cruel…”

Claiming the family’s motivation was purely for financial support, Game said they began calling him non-stop.

“My phone was just going off the hook,” he continued. “And everybody was calling [and] asking for money and just, you know, asking me to pay for the whole funeral, you know, which I didn’t have no problem doing but that’s not really my obligation. I just felt like they were trying to play me out for 17 grand.”

The Compton rapper said his mother recommended only paying for the casket and flowers, but his cousin’s family refused the offer wanting him to cover all costs.

Game also said his cousin Robert “Kirky” Kirkwood called his brother Fase to plan an altercation at the funeral.

“When I see him, I shake his hand and I go sit down and tell him I love him,” he recalled. “And then after the funeral, you know he’s a pallbearer. He’s supposed to be carrying my cousin to the hearse and getting her to the cemetery so she can go in the ground but he coming at me, pulling at me, and the first thing he said was ‘Eh homie, what’s up with that cheese.’ And I’m like ‘What, what’s up with that cheese’ and then he like ‘You The Game, right. You supposed to be big rapper, why you ain’t pay for the whole funeral, cuz?’”

Game then said his cousin became upset once he explained he had his own family to care of which led to him pushing the rapper. He justified punching Kirkwood as a defense and claims the entire family joined the fight.

Game’s third album L.A.X. is scheduled to hit stores August 26th.

RAP-A-LOT C.E.O. "J" PRINCE CLEARED OF CHARGES!!

Last year, Ronnie Bookman, the head of Houston's Studio 7303 filed a $10 million lawsuit against Prince claiming that Rap-A-Lot CEO lured him into a gym to be attacked. According to KPRC Local 2, prosecutors dismissed the case against Prince on Wednesday because of inconsistencies in some of the witnesses' stories.

"The big problem in Houston is that for the last 20 years, Rap-A-Lot and James Prince have dominated the music scene," said Prince's attorney Kent Shaffer. "So, you have up and coming artists (and) companies that want to compete with Rap-A-Lot and sometimes they'll sort of go (resort to) outlandish means to do it."

And the beat rolls on. I really, really don't understand why the industry doesn't look at Rap-A-Lot as one of the biggest label period. Their track record is flawless. Screw sales for a second. I'm talking about the fact that they have put out classic albums for over 20 years now. Cash Money right behind them. Forget what you read Rap-A-Lot is the dynasty when it comes to this rap sh*t. Hands down I don't see anyone touching their legacy. I don't care what coast you from. Show me a label that has stayed this consistent with reality rap content.

NAS TALKS MOBB DEEP -N- 50 CENT

King Magazine recently released some lost excerpts of their interview with Nas. "I ran into Prodigy last week and asked him, 'What should I ask Nas?' He said, 'Ask him, ‘What happened backstage at the Central Park show in 2004,’” Thomas Golianopoulos inquired. “Man, that was some classic Mobb Deep shit. They was rumbling,” Nas replied regarding a fight that took place backstage between Mobb Deep and others. But Prodigy thinks that those involved were Nas’ people. “He thinks you set him up,” Golianopoulos responded. Nas went on to discuss his relationship with Prodigy and addressed the situation. “I did hear that. Nah, I would never do that to him,” Nas retorted. “We had our differences, which was really just hyped up bullshit. I wish everything for Prodigy. They caught a lot of bad breaks. I just wish the best for him. I wish he didn’t have to do this time. And I would love to see them come back again. I would be the first person in the record store buying a Mobb album. I want to see them give it to us however many more times.” Nas also revealed how he felt about Mobb Deep joining G-Unit. “I was really happy to see 50 embrace them. I thought that was G because that’s something that doesn’t happen from the higher ups. All these big companies, they don’t care about us. They don’t care about the talented ones that aren’t given a fair shot and I thought it was a good move on 50’s part to give them a deal.”

MELYSSA FORD & DANIELLA COBB WILL INSPIRE TEEN GIRLS FROM ITS COOL TO BE SMART WITH THEIR NEW FOUNDATION, “LESS IS MORE”

How time flies when you are having fun; we all remember Ms. Melyssa Ford hosting the BET's How I'm Livin' series, and BET's lifestyle show entitled BET Style. You can now catch Melyssa on the national Satellite Airwaves on Sirius Radio, HOT JAMZ weekly, during the day.

Now-a-days Melyssa and her business partner, Ms. Daniella Cobb are moving in another direction to inspire young women across the country with their new Foundation "Less Is More". The Foundation stands for literacy, etiquette, self and strength and will focus on literacy within girls/women. The Foundation will target girls and women between the ages of 13 to 30. The foundation will also focus on finances, job ideas and mentoring. "We want to show that within the entertainment arena there are other areas girls can work besides modeling if they choose", stated Co-Founder Ms. Daniella Cobb.

"We will be working on having Melyssa and Daniella participate in our Annual It's Cool To Be Smart "Smart Girls with Cool Jobs" Celebrity Women Panel Discussions throughout the year in Atlanta, which involves powerful and inspirational women from the Entertainment Industry" stated Executive Director, Curtis B. Past women panelist have included, Keshia Knight Pulliam(The Cosby Show), R&B Group, Cherish, Keke Palmer (Akeelah and the Bee and up and coming movie with Ice Cube called "The Long Shots" premiering this summer) and women executives, from top networks such as BETand Radio One including Hot 107.9's own Rashan Ali, from the A-Team Morning Show.

Melyssa and Daniella will also become music mentors for the It's Cool To Be Smart program for selected teen girls in New York City from the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Clubs of the Bronx. "What Melyssa and I have found is that quite often we are asked to speak at schools and colleges about being women in entertainment, however we have discovered that the lack of choices and positive images of girls are from making bad decisions. There are several areas within entertainment that can be as rewarding and fun. Melyssa and I say this all the time; sometimes less is more! We are excited to share our story with girls everywhere", stated Daniella.

LIL WAYNE RETURNS TO THE TOP OF BILLBOARD 200....G-UNIT COMES IN @ NO.4

BILLBOARD MAGAZINE REPORTS:

Despite a 25% drop in sales, Lil Wayne's "Tha Carter III" returns to the top of The Billboard 200 this week. The Cash Money/Universal album moved 156,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan, and has now sold 1.68 million in four weeks of release.

Coldplay's "Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends" (Capitol) -- which crowned the chart for the last two weeks -- drops down to No. 2, with 149,000 and a 40% decrease in sales. The Jonas Brothers-led soundtrack to Disney's "Camp Rock" stays at No. 3 for a third week straight with 116,000 (-32%).

G-Unit's sophomore set, "T.O.S. (Terminate on Sight)" (G-Unit/Interscope) debuts at No. 4 with 102,000. The crew's 2003's debut album, "Beg For Mercy," started at No. 1 with 377,000.

John Mayer's "Where the Light Is: John Mayer Live in Los Angeles" debuts this week at No. 5 with 75,000. It's the third live offering from the songwriter, on the heels of 2005's "Try! The multi-label hits compilation "Now 28" holds tight at No. 6 with 59,000 (-10%), as Kid Rock's "Rock N Roll Jesus" (Top Dog/Atlantic) re-enters the top 10 12-7 with a 27% boost in sales to 45,000. Usher's LaFace/Zomba set "Here I Stand" descends 7-8 with a 20% sales decrease to 41,000. Rihanna's "Good Girl Gone Bad" (SRP/Def Jam) climbs a slot 10-9 with 40,000 (-14%). That album flip-flops with Disturbed's Warner Bros. album "Indestructible," which falls 9-10 with 37,000 (-25%).

Rapper Tech N9ne scores his highest charting album and best sales week ever as "Killer" (Strange Music/Fontana) debuts at No. 12 with 36,000. The Kansas City native has been charting since 2001; his previous high came with the No. 49 debut and peak of 2007's "Misery Loves Kompany."

Rock outfit Alkaline Trio's "Agony & Irony" (Epic) bows right behind at No. 13 with only a couple dozen fewer sales at 36,000. This is also the Chicago group's best sales and charting week ever.

Other debuts this week include My Chemical Romance's live set "The Black Parade is Dead!" FREE SOL CONCERT IN ATLANTA

“Free Sol” refers to a state of mind…a freedom of expression…with a main objective of never conforming to the usual way of doing things. Especially in music. Growing up in Memphis, Free was influenced by a variety of sounds from blues to rock to hip-hop. And unlike many of his peers, he was attracted to all of these sounds and more. He knew at the age of 14 that music would be his life’s work. So after years of ‘sol’ searching in order to find his path, he decided the best idea was to move beyond the basic hip-hop formula of “2 turntables and a microphone” and form an actual band. In 2002, Free Sol was re-born.
With the help of some uniquely talented musicians (Kickman Teddy, Premo Danger, and Elliott Ives), Free Sol created an eclectic and original sound, blending elements of hip-hop, rock, funk, jazz, and soul. His range in talents was quickly recognized, and soon Free found himself sharing the stage with the likes of Justin Timberlake, Isaac Hayes, T.I., Digital Underground, Talib Kweli, Marc Broussard, Erykah Badu, and the Foo Fighters, just to name a few.
Recently, Justin Timberlake recognized Free’s progressive and unique star qualities and signed he and the band to his upstart label, Tennman Records. As the awareness of his music grows, so will the desire to categorize it into a specific genre. But if you truly understand Free Sol, you will simply just call it music.
“Music is the only thing I live for. God has given me a gift that I will use. The world will not always understand me, but I’ll keep on using my gift in the best way I know how. I have good days and I have bad days, I guess like any one who’s on a mission. But I am passionate, beyond anything else. ‘Free Sol’ is a state of mind. I am an artist who raps, sings, writes, produces, acts, plays, and embodies creativity. I have no boundaries in what I may discuss or do, for God is my author and I am his star character in the story of my life. God is a big God with no borders. I am His vessel and He knows what to do with me.” – Free Sõl

INTERVIEW WITH HEATHER HUNTER

INTERVIEW WITH HEATHER HUNTER

KINGSMEN: HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO PUT THIS BOOK TOGETHER? AND HOW MUCH OF THE BOOK IS TRUE COMPARED TO YOUR LIFE STORY?
HEATHER HUNTER: WELL I’VE BEEN ACTUALLY WRITING THE BOOK, WELL IT STARTED OFF WITH ME ACTUALLY WRITING MEMOIRS, ITS BEEN OVER 10 YEARS. AND IN 2002 I DECIDED TO PUT ALL MY EXPERIENCES IN MY LIFE AND FICTIONALIZE EVERYTHING. THE TIMELINE OF THE BOOK I CAN TRULY SAY IS MY LIFE. THE BOOK IS SUCH A PUZZLE NOT ONLY HER CHARACTER, BUT A FEW OF THE CHARACTERS I PUT MY EXPIERENCES IN. SO TO ME IT’S A GREAT FUN READ. LIKE UNPUZZLING A CODE. BUT I CAN TRULY SAY 50 PERCENT IS TRUE AND THE REST IS FANTASY THAT’S THE BEAUTIFUL THING ABOUT FICTION. YOU GET TO USE YOUR IMAGINATION AND STIMULATE PEOPLE.
K: LETS GET INTO THE MUSIC SIDE OF THINGS, IS THERE ANYONE YOU WANT TO WORK WITH THAT YOU HAVENT YET?
HH: FAR AS MUSIC, LIKE RIGHT NOW I WOULD LOVE TO AND LOOKING FORWARD TO PUTTING OUT NEW MUSIC NEXT YEAR BECAUSE IVE BEEN DOING SO MUCH WITH THE BOOK. RIGHT NOW IM WORKING WITH KWAME IN THE STUDIO. I WOULD LOVE TO WORK WITH TIMBALAND AGAIN. I’VE WORKED WITH DJ PREMIER. IT WOULD BE GREAT TO WORK WITH PUFFY ONE DAY.
K: AS FAR AS YOUR ACTING CAREER WHO WOULD BE SOMEONE YOU WOULD LIKE TO WORK WITH?
HH: RIGHT NOW.WOW. I JUST HAD A GREAT TIME DOING THE AMERICAN GANGSTA MOVIE WITH DENZEL WASHINGTON. THAT WAS A REAL BIG HIGHLIGHT FOR ME. AND IF ITS ANYBODY ELSE I CAN TRULY SAY I WOULD LOVE TO BE IN A MOVIE WITH AL PACINO AND ROBERT DINERO.
K: HOW WAS THAT EXPIERINCE WORKING ON THE SET WITH DENZEL?
HH: THIS WAS MY SECOND MOVIE WITH DENZEL. WE DID THE “HE GOT GAME” WITH SPIKE LEE BUT THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME I WAS ON THE SET WITH HIM AND JUST TO WORK WITH A PROMINENT ACTOR LIKE HIMSELF THERES NOBODY BETTER TO WORK WITH. IT WAS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY AND IM GLAD I WS THERE.
K: RIGHT NOW WHATS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF YOUR CAREER?
HH: RIGHT NOW THE MOST IMPORTANT PART WOULD BE MY WRITING. IM WORKING ON MY SECOND BOOK AND I SHOULD HAVE THAT OUT NEXT YEAR. ANOTHER THING WOULD BE GOING BEHIND THE SCENES WITH SOME NEW PROJECTS THAT I CANT REALLY TALK ABOUT BUT ITS FOR T.V. AND FILM. IM DOING MORE PRODUCING AND I JUST WANNA KNOW ALL AND BE APART OF ALL AREAS OF MY CAREER. I FEEL ITS VERY IMPORTANT TO OWN YOUR OWN PRODUCT
